About Us

Upland bird hunting at its finest and abundant property to call your own! Friends, the evolution of a passion, founded by St. Monica’s Catholic Church, is truly a “small town” success story. Father John McGoldrick’s vision helped to create what is now the Willows Pheasant Association (WPA). Just after the rice harvest concludes each fall, land is prepped so that young & old can enjoy the great outdoors in a “members only” environment. Following its inception more than 50 years ago, quality hunting property on the outskirts of Willows has been set aside for this annual gathering. Land comprised mainly of harvested rice fields & cut alfalfa hold both feed & birds for the avid outdoorsman, or the novice upland game hunter. With thousands of acres available, safety for those afield lends well to positive experiences. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway with friends and relatives, you have found the destination. Each field holds the promise of wild & planted pheasants in their natural habitat, and the walking is easy! To insure your experience is opportunistic, a posted schedule of pheasant plants throughout the season is available to all members. Come join us!

What is Required

All hunters are required to possess a current California hunting license. Youths that have passed the hunter’s safety course are welcome. Putting ethical hunters in the field builds respect for hunting traditions, and makes for lasting memories. Blaze Orange caps or vests are also required for everyone’s safety. PLEASE SEE THE MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FOR COMPLETE DETAILS.
